(i)For admission to any of the First Degree programmes (also called B.E.-Hons.) of BITS except B.Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and adequate proficiency in English.
(ii)For admission to B.Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) and adequate proficiency in English. However candidates with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.
(i) The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) subjects in 12th examination, with atleast 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects.
(ii) Only Students who are appearing for 12th class examination in 2017 or who have passed 12th class Examination in 2016 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2017 test. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
(iii) Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2017. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as mentioned above.

BITSAT 2017 question paper is designed in a way that a good examinee will be able to complete it within 3 hours, while a brilliant candidate will have the opportunity to attempt extra 12 questions, thus giving them the opportunity for scoring high. On the contrary, for incorrect answers, negative marking is there. Thus, the candidates should very carefully choose the correct answer option and it should not only a guess work, which will be highly likely to be disadvantageous.

The SAT and ACT are standardized tests widely used for college admissions in the United States.The SAT and ACT are typically taken by high school juniors and seniors.These tests assess how well the test takers analyze and solve problems—skills which they had learned in school that they will need in college.
The SAT contains three sections: Reading, Math, and 'Writing and Language'.The ACT contains four sections: Reading, Math, English and Science.
The New SAT has only one reading section and one writing section—the math section is divided into a calculator portion and a no-calculator portions. The sections will always be in the same order. The test will be 3 hours, plus the optional essay. The exact breakdown, in order, looks like this:
